Meet The Doctors

Young S. Seo D.D.S., F.A.G.D.

Dr. Seo studied computer science and engineering at the University of California Los Angeles. After a couple of years of working as a software engineer in Xerox Corp., he decided to change his career significantly with a desire of more direct human interaction and contribution. He joined the United States Navy and finished his dental education from the prestigious University of California San Francisco in 2009. Additionally he completed General Practice Residency in Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2010. After 10 years of faithful naval service, Dr. Seo decided to start private practice with one purpose: provide sound dentistry. In order to accomplish this goal, he pursues continuing education relentlessly so that he can apply his scientific knowledge, judgment and skill set at the highest standard combined with proven modern technology. Furthermore, he became a fellow of Academy of General Dentistry in July 2020. Only 6% of general dentists in the United States have earned this special fellowship.

When he is free, he continues to serve as a reserve member in the United States Navy and enjoys life with his family.

Kent Akin D.D.S., M.P.H.

Dr. Kent Akin is a specialist in periodontics and focuses treatment on periodontal disease, hard and soft tissue augmentation and dental implantology.

He received his Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at the University of San Diego. He pursued a Masters degree in Public Health from Drexel University, after which, he attended the UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Akin continued his dental education with a post-doctoral residency in advanced periodontics and implant dentistry at the Veterans Affairs Hospital of West Los Angeles/UCLA Medical Center.

His residency had an emphasis on medically-compromised patients, full-mouth rehabilitation, interdisciplinary periodontal-prosthodontics reconstructive therapy, and full-arch implant treatment. He is trained in moderate IV sedation in order to help treat individuals with dental anxiety.

Dr. Akin is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration and the California Society of Periodontics.

Dominic Gallo D.D.S.

For Dr. Dominic Gallo, dentistry became a passion through realizing the huge need for both great clinical care and real patient education. He is dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment to all kinds of patients, with a big focus on building trust and long-term relationships.

He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, where he built a solid foundation in patient-centered care. After dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency to get advanced, hands-on experience in oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. This extra training really sharpened his ability to provide specialized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, he moved to California for school and immediately fell in love with the weather, active lifestyle, and vibrant culture. California has truly become home, and he’s excited to continue his career serving local communities with integrity and excellence.

When he’s not in the office, you can find him hanging out at the beach, hiking scenic trails, working out, or checking out new restaurants across Southern California.
